LINCOLN UNIVERSITY COLLEGE AWARDS

AWARDS COMMITEE AND SELECTION PROCESS

The Awards Committee is made up of the current CLUC administrators and one faculty representative.

The first week of May the Award Descriptions are sent out to professors who taught during the year and asked to nominate students they feel are deserving of the awards. Nominations are to be returned by the second week of May. Upon receipt of the nominations, the Awards Committee will meet to consider the nominations and decide. Likewise, the first week of May the Student Government is asked to solicit nominations for the Service Award. They are asked to present the Award Committee with their selection by the third week of May.

ANNUAL AWARDS


SMITH-HEMINGWAY AWARD
Named in honor of Gottfried Smith-engineer, entrepreneur, and longtime friend of Ernest Hemingway, this award honors the
student who best exemplifies the link between breadth of education and fullness of life.


FOUNDER’S AWARD
Awarded to a student who has demonstrated active commitment to the success and growth of C-LUC, often through the
creation or development of an institutional program or activity.


SERVICE AWARD
Awarded to a student who has demonstrated exemplary dedication to the welfare and success of others at C-LUC. Students
will nominate the recipient to be approved by the C-LUC awards committee.

ACADEMIC AWARD
Awarded to a student who has demonstrated sustained academic excellence.

NON-ANNUAL AWARDS


OUTSTANDING GRADUATE AWARD
Awarded to students who graduate from C-LUC with a Bachelor in Liberal Arts or a Licenciatura en Humanidades degree with a
GPA of 3.50 or higher.


OUTSTANDING TRANSFER AWARD
Awarded to students who complete at least 4 semesters at C-LUC with GPA of 3.50 or higher and transfer to another institution
to earn their degree.


SPORTS AWARD
Awarded to students for outstanding achievement in sports activities, as individual athletes and/or as team players or leaders.


COLLEGE LIFE AWARD
Awarded to students who have demonstrated exceptional school spirit and dedication to improving the life of the C-LUC
community.


ACADEMIC ENDEAVOR AWARD
Awarded to a students who demonstrates exceptional effort and dedication to
his or her education.


ACADEMIC AWARD IN SPECIFIC SUBJECT
Awarded to students who demonstrate exceptional academic excellence in a specific subject.
